Howdy

I'm Michael Scott – and no, I'm not the regional manager of Dunder Mifflin. I'm the real deal: Army officer, adventure seeker, and soon-to-be business student who happens to share a name with TV's most awkward boss.

My Journey

My story begins in the Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania, where early mornings harvesting sweet corn instilled a foundation of discipline that would later define my approach to life's greatest challenges. Those farming roots provided the strategic patience needed to excel at Cornell University (where I managed not to embarrass the Andy Bernard legacy) and develop as a leader in the 2nd Cavalry Regiment of the U.S. Army.

Across four years leading multinational teams throughout Europe, I discovered that effective leadership isn't about position or platitudes—it's about applying strategic thinking to forge authentic connections across borders and cultures, and making decisive calls when the stakes are highest.

Strategic thinking extends beyond my military career into every pursuit. When not in uniform, you'll find me applying the same methodical approach to ultra-marathons and mountain summits. These adventures aren't mere hobbies; they're extensions of the strategic mindset that drives me to push boundaries and embrace challenges that many find 2scott2handle.

This strategic approach to life now guides my transition to INSEAD, where I'll leverage my unique blend of military precision, adventure-tested resilience, and purpose-driven leadership to excel in global business. Beyond professional success, I'm committed to creating meaningful impact through strategic giving and effective altruism principles.

This site documents my journey across all three domains—Career Advancement, Adventure Challenges, and Purposeful Impact—as I navigate the wins, the setbacks, and everything between. Join me as I apply military precision to business, adventure, and impact—proving that with strategic thinking, no challenge is 2scott2handle.
